The fishtank bator is soooo simple. The only thing I bought was the fan from Wakmart. Cost $3.97...or something like that. Under $4.00. I made 2 fishtank bator. 1 is 10 gallon & 1 is 20 gallon.

I used an old light I took of one of our boats, and the other bator I used an old droplight. I just took off the cover and left the bulb exposed. I used leftover hardware cloth and bent it to fit in and tin foil to reflec the light. I cover the top with a piece of thin plastic I took out of an old picture frame and throw an old banket over the top for insulation. I vent top as needed to maintain temp. I have a pan under the hardware cloth for water with 2 sponges in it. I have to add water to the bottom of the tank at lockdown to raise humidity. I used some plastic flower flats from plants we bought to raise up the light so it is not laying on the bottom of the tank and does not get wet. A basket from the dollar tree for a hatching basket..It is primative at best but works great. Anything you can think that I forget to add and you have a question just let me know. No problem!

I did all my incubating and hatching in there. Then broke down and got a Brinsea 20 with turner. Now I use the fishtanks as hatcher. Now my kids and whoever is around at hatch time can watch easily. Of course I over order eggs all the time and still end up incubating in them .

Your ducklings are adorable, I just picked some up from Bucheit here in Missouri and they are adorable. The first time I seen runners I fell in love <3 so when I seen Bucheit had them I bought all they had(which was only 7) and I love them.

No I cant move him out. That was what I bought when I 1st moved over here as I had to rehome my goldfish to move here. He has had many a friend over the years and they have all died so he just swims on his own. Hes huge too...about 7 inches long and Ive had him since 1994. I cant kick him out of his home to make a bator, that would be down right naughty
