I'm new to ducks also but when I brooded my two Pekins in the bathtub a few weeks ago, someone suggested on another website about using the rubber shelf liner at wal-mart. The kind that's smooth on one side and a little bubbly on the other side. So...............I purchased two rolls and got home, cut them to fit the tub, made sure the bubbly side was up and put my ducklings on that. For 3 weeks, that worked like a charm. When I would go in to clean, I would put the ducks in a cardboard box, turn the water on, rinse the waterer, refill and set aside, rinse the food container , set it aside , then I would wash off the rubber liner, hang it out the bathroom window to dry and put another one down. I switched back and forth with two liners. It was really easy. At the age of three weeks, they went out to their permanent home. They were big guys by that time.
