Hi,
Looking for some advise, we have a nice sized pond with a floating house and vegetation around the pond, however, no plants on the pond, we bought two Indain Runner duckes hoping they would nest on the floating house, (no chance) the best we can get is to put food on it and they swim upto it and eat from the water. The drake has now gone siting on eggs somewhere and I am worried that when she comes with little duckilings what to do. Do I leave them to nature? try to get them into a small pen which we have? Buy special food for the ducklings? please advise.

Sorry, I know nothing about ducks, but check out the Ducks section. Lots of experienced members there.

Welcome to you!

As suggest by the previous poster, you might want to ask your question in the duck section, as this section is really just to introduce yourself as a member. I'll bet you'll get a lot of advice in the correct section (sorry, no duck experience myself)...

. Your going to want to get them in a small pen. If not she's probably going to get eaten or some of her babies will.

Hi and :welcome from Ohio. So glad to have you aboard. Well, first off drakes are the males and they don't sit on the eggs ducks are the females that sit on the eggs. How do you know she is sitting on eggs? Do you know where the nest is? If it is not in a safe place odds are coons will find her and possibly kill her and the eggs. As Kevin565 said you will want to pen her up to keep her and the eggs/babies safe. You can put out a small tray of unmedicated chick starter when ducklings are about to arrive, usually around 28 days. :thumbsup
