Runners and cold weather

My five Runners developed a new walk today:
  1. Run three to five steps
  2. Drop down on your belly and retract the landing gear for warm up
  3. Complain loudly about the sh*t weather
  4. Back to step 1
I did not had my phone with me, that video would have been hillarious. Right now they are back in their house sleeping through the cold.

They're fantastic characters aren't they !

We've been putting our ducks in the garage at night and do give them water since they are down there from 6:30pm until 7:30am.
They have a Tupperware container with a hole cut out of the lid and put inside a plastic storage tote with one side cut off to catch any water they dribble. It works pretty good to keep things dry but still a little cleanup in the mornings. The Tupperware container is a half a gallon, maybe a little more. Just enough for them to drink and blow out their nostrils as long as its mostly full.
I don't know if that helps at all since it would probably freeze overnight. It was below freezing here in Georgia this morning but we have no right to complain...we are wishing the best for everyone in the bitter cold this winter :(

I use this at night in their house, a chicken waterer in a rubber food bowl. It gives them enough to take a sip if they need to, but doesn't make a mess. My pekins were deprived of water at their first home, before they were surrendered to the shelter, so I like them to have a little water if they want it.
