Running out of space... can some go in a pen near chickens?

Many of us have poultry and gamebirds and on the same property nonetheless. Practicing good biosecurity is a start. You can have a pen near chicken pens, just not having a chicken in the pen with the quail and sharing the feed/water, cuddling with the quail, etc. What I do, is first feed the quail and care for them, close up and then go to the chickens, ducks, and all those critters. Microorganisms are in the air and things can transmit among your clothes, but it is safer to do the quail first and then chicken. The pen, as long as sanitized and no chicken prior in it, should be fine for the quail until you make room for them elsewhere.

I agree I'm not trying to tell people to raise quail & chickens the way I am but its just the way I'm doing it. So far its all good I don't want sick birds trust me. I stay on top of it. I'm retired & have alot of time to mess with the birds.

Dang right and I'm proud of em!! Maybe I'll start posting them twice a day. I think birds need alot of space . Trying to convey the message. Bob's need alot of space. Coturnix are different.

I THINK YOU SHOULD POST THE PICTURES ANYWHERE, ANYTIME THEY ARE RELEVANT TO THE SUBJECT AND THIS CERTAINLY SEEMED TO BE APPROPRIATE FOR THIS THREAD. THEY ARE NICE LOOKING PENS.

JUST WASH THE WATERS/FEEDERS IN HOT SOAPY WATER, RINSE IN A BLEACH SOLUTION AND THERE SHOULD BE NO PROBLEM. PEN COULD ALSO BE SPRAYED WITH BLEACH..
