I have 3 runner girls.

I think I am ok bringing on a black runner boy. Which means one or two more ducklings to go with him (might have to do some convincing on 2 ducklings, but we'll see lol). So probably the blue runner Blue was supposed to be and my pekin!
We saw one yesterday playing mini golf (we were playing mini golf, the duck wasn't

). He was a friendly guy and I went over and pet him and chatted with him a bit before he got up and walked off.
But... I'm not sure the gender pekin I want to bring home. Ideally a boy to keep down on the noise, but I'm thinking 4 runner girls and 2 boy ducks might be too much. And what about a boy pekin and girl runners, is that an issue with size? That pekin was so much bigger than my girls.
For those with both (Nicky and anybody else), how loud is your pekin girl compared to the runners?

My girls don't quack a lot, but when they do, they can wake the dead.

My Pekin girl is not any louder than my Runner girls. And my Pekin drake is always getting on the Runner girls. But I only have one pair of Pekins and I have about 12 Runner girls and one Runner drake.

When you have so many and they all live together they can be loud. Sometimes just looking for each other on the farm has them yelling their heads off but the Pekin doesn't seem like she has as much to say.

Good luck and have fun!

I sometimes joke that my Pekin has a fetish for very tall thin ducks over his own kind... AS he used to constantly prowl the fence looking for any way to get at my Runner girls. And if he did get over the fence- wow how fast those legs would get him around chasing them!!! It was a matter of who had the greatest endurance thought- with Harvey often having to give up the chase.

My female pekin is no louder than any of my Runners- but I do hear her more often as she is the only female not locked in the shed at night. She really only makes a fuss when she is waiting for a feed though.
