“I know! He’ll probably be made a warrior early, but I told Bramblestar I would only recommend him as one when I was certain his loyalty and spirit are as strong as his fighting skills.”

Floodlight blinked open her eyes and was sitting in a lush forest, not unlike the one she had so recently left behind, but this one seemed to be pulsing something otherworldly from deep within its branches and whispered of hidden secrets and prophecies yet to be revealed.

Feathersky appeared from behind one of the trees. "Floodlight." She greeted her with a dip of her head.

She smiled, still not accustomed to the praise and not knowing how else to react other than awkwardly dipping her head in thanks.
(That’s me whenever I get a compliment)

“Feathersky!” she exclaimed joyfully.

He licked her ear

She smiled slightly and licked her ear before pulling away. She took a deep breath before reciting:
"The Shadows grow closer
They are a threat to us all
They become stronger and more hungry each passing sun-rise
The one of the Sky is our only hope
We must come together to save the Clans!"

Snowfrost began to groom him as the sun disappeared behind the distant trees.

“What else is coming for us?” Floodlight asked, feeling worried and frustrated in equal measure. “Haven’t we suffered enough in recent times? The Clan needs to recover! Our leader lost multiple lives from this sickness.”

Rosethorn began to groom her back, purring as they shared tongues.

"I'm sorry, I can't control the future, I can only warn you." She said apologetically.

They continued to share tongues until the moon had risen, and Snowfrost drifted off into a peaceful sleep that was untroubled by dreams of the Dark Forest or prophecies.

She sighed. “I know, it’s just a little hard sometimes. But thank you for the warning. We’re going to need it.”

She nodded and then slowly began to fade away.

Rosethorn curled around her happily and fell asleep.

The meeting of the medicine cats had been completed, and Floodlight curled in her nest, her mind full.

When the sun rose again that morning, Snowfrost slept in a little.

Blackblood was already out of camp early in the morning, working off some of his grief and anger on a young badger.

Beetlepaw was covered in bruises and scratches as he picked a piece of prey from the pile
