“You don’t have to hand it over. You can try and take her down from the inside or something. But it’s up to you to decide how to get yourself out of this and fix what’s happened.” She hesitated, then added, “Did you know what Darksky was going to do to Lilyflight?”

“Fine,” he muttered. “I just thought, well... if someone was going to kill her, now would be the time. She’s injured, isn’t she?”

"She was going to kill her in front of Bramblestar." He mewed darkly. "I was about to go down there myself and tell her to stop, then Hazelkit appeared and did it for me."

"Yeah, I guess she is." Rainbird nodded. "But you must leave that to the older cats. Justice will be served, but not by you." She licked his ears

Floodlight nodded. “Just remember what I’ve said.” With that, she got up and went back into the medicine den.

“Okay,” he sighed, admitting defeat.

“I know,” he muttered. “I’m just so angry at her. She tried to kill my mother.” He cast Lilyflight another anguished glance. “But I know it’s not a good idea to try and go after her myself. I can’t even remember what to do in my apprentice ceremony.”
