“Thank you!” Snowfrost mewed gratefully, taking her kit from Redfrond and setting him back in the nest. “He snuck out when I was asleep. He’s getting to be more trouble with each day that goes by,” she added with a snort. “I was about to go looking for him, but then Flykit opened her eyes!”

He looked at her kits fondly. "Good luck keeping them in here. Now they're going to be working together!" He joked

“How do you do it?” Snowfrost asked, glancing at Sunstrike. “I can barely handle the two!” Her eyes shone with love, however, as she licked her kits again.

Featherkit padded up and slapped her again.

“Ouch! Yeah... that’s an unfortunate habit he’s gotten into,” Snowfrost explained, glancing up at her former mentor. “What have I told you about words, Featherkit?”

“Fu!” he mewed proudly.

His whiskers twitched in amusement.

Sunstrike laughed. "Always keep an eye open." She advised. "I have disciplined my kits enough now though so they know never to wander too far from me." She licked their ears fondly. "Isn't that right, my loves?"

Hazelkit nodded proudly, glad her mother seemed to be proud of them for never causing too much trouble for her.

“I think it’s funny that you think I don’t cause trouble,” Aspenkit mewed teasingly.

Snowfrost snorted with laughter as she drew Featherkit closer so he could eat. “Are you hungry, too, Flykit?”

Sunstrike purred in amusement. "I think you're very well behaved." She praised him

Flykit began to suckle happily, looking into Snowfrosts eyes

Snowfrost blinked gently at her daughter. “I’m sure your father would love to see your beautiful eyes,” she purred, licking Flykit between the ears.

She purred and licked his ears fondly. "I'm very lucky. You two have never really caused me much trouble, even when you were much younger than you are now."

Flykit blinked back and smiled. She didn't know what she was saying, but she knew her tone was gentle and loving

“Well, I guess you’d be the one to remember that,” he said with a shrug.

Snowfrost continued to groom her kits, purring.

Featherkit eventually drifted off.
