“He better.” She glanced at Bramblestar, sleeping across from her. “Why does he have to die?” she murmured, half to herself.

“She will. She’s smart and strong,” Snowfrost agreed.
"Cirlce of life." He responded bluntly. "Every cat has to die at some point."

"She'll become a great warrior."

She sighed. She knew Firestar was stressed, but he didn’t seem to be making much of an effort to be very gentle with any of his world-crashing news.

“I know she will. She works hard.”

In a more gentle tone, he said "If you need to say anything to him, you should probably do it soon."

"Yes, she does."
 
"No, he doesn't. But you'll know when the time is right."
“Okay.” She still felt horribly confused and sad all at once, but she knew she had to learn to accept the future, or else it would be unbearable when it came. I can still focus on now, too. Bramblestar is still here.
