*Running with the Flood* A Warrior Cat RP~Open~

Blackblood kept his ears pricked and his jaws open for fox-scent. When he smelled the den, he whispered to Nightbird "The den is over there. I can smell it."
Rosesky peered into the dusty hole in the ground. She narrowed her eyes and...
"Those kits are not small! Or that's the mom...nope. There are three! They are bigger than us." She reported to Nightbird. "They must be learning to hunt..there are prey carcasses strewn around. They are torturing a rabbit right now.." She said with disgust.
“You don’t have to narrate it for me.” Nightbird said dryly, watching besides her. She tucked her tail under her. Three half-grown fox kits versus.. five warriors and two apprentices. We’ll beat them if it comes to it, but it won’t be without injuries. She glanced up at the trees and tried to think.
Blackblood narrowed his eyes slightly. Nightbird didn't give the order for them to look in the den yet. Yes, he didn't follow the rules a lot, but he still gave a little respect toward the patrol leader. He shook his head a little, clearing his thoughts. He flexed his claws in and out, waiting for the order to attack. His eyes shone in excitement. He hadn't been able to go into battle for a while now.

Rosesky stepped away from the den. "Nighbird, should we try to flush them out of the den? I would say we not kill them, just send them packing with a few scratches, but it's your call."
She picked at the dirt between her claws nervously.
(see, here she is restraining her inner control freak, XD)
“Yeah.. we need them out of there. Going in there, close-quarters with a bunch of mange-pelts, won’t be fun.” She offered grimly. “How would you-” she paused, but went on, “flush them out?”

"Hmm..Maybe just get their attention, like have someone wailing, pretending to be hurt, and get them to come out of the den. Then send them running, with not much harm done. But to make sure they know we don't want them here, and they won't be staying without some fight from us." She said.

Nightbird’s tail, still tucked under her, twitched, as if it had a life of its own. “Ok- here’s the plan.. Skypaw, you’re going to be the bait. Don’t complain, you’re the smallest cat. The rest of us will climb to the lowest branches of the surrounding trees and jump on Skypaw’s signal.” She said. “This way we can startle them and make those prey-stealers wish they’d never come into our territory.” She growled. “Skypaw, shout when the foxes are all out.” She said swiftly, creeping through the undergrowth and clawing up a tree. She positioned herself so she could jump without any obstacles.

"There will be no unnecessary harming of the kits though, right? We're just going to scare them." She said, half joking. But half not. She didn't want those kits to be any more hurt than they needed to be to be scared away. She perched on a low branch in the tree next to the one Nightbird was in.

Skypaw nodded and waited until everyone was in position. He then put on an act of dragging his leg as if it were broken and crying out in pain. He stopped in front of the fox den and put on a believable show of panting and exhaustion before he collapsed, moaning

Nettlespeck stifled a laugh. This was sure to get the foxes out of there.

“They’re gonna hear you.” Nightbird replied simply, being an expert at ending conversations. She crouched and watched Skypaw’s show. She might’ve thought that he could be an actor, if she knew what that was.

(Rosesky:😑)
She crouched lower on the branch. Her pelt blended in, but still. “Hrrmph”

After a little while of moaning and trying to get up but acting like his legs kept giving out, the biggest fox kit emerged from the den. Skypaw's eyes widened and he made a feeble attempt to get away, dragging his leg behind him and using his front paws to drag himself slowly across the ground away from it
Rosesky tensed. She watched closely.
Nettlespeck tightly gripped his branch. "Why did I happen to choose the slipperiest branch in the forest?!"
