"Please do," she begged her, moving closer. She felt a surge of protectiveness towards Sunpaw, and she felt as though she could and would shred anything that tried to hurt her.

"I will. I only brought this subject up because whether you like it or not, it is a possibility that they come to me. I just needed your advice on what to do and how to be safe." She mewed, cuddling closer and feeling protected.

Lilyflight wrapped her tail around her and held her close. "Well, if they do come, you'll need to be smart," she said slowly. "Don't be too obvious. Of course pretend to be eager and willing to learn, just like any mentor would like in an apprentice. But also don't suddenly turn from being this pure little angel into a killing cat. They won't buy it. But then again, I've never met a Dark Forest warrior. And I can't tell you how much I wish I never will."

Lilyflight hesitated. "A-As far as I know, no one knows," she said finally, and clearly reluctantly. "I know at one point Ivypool was in trouble, and she had to figure it out because she couldn't wake up. If you get in trouble Sunpaw, I don't think there's a way out. That's why I'm so worried for you."

"Oh. Maybe I can start to sleep next to a cat who knows I'll be spying, and if bad enough marks get on my body, they can wake me up."

"I know you could, but sometimes it's not just the marks. You could be asked a question you don't know how to answer without giving yourself away, you could be told to do something you just can't, like killing someone. You could be asked information about the Clan. These things can't be told by physical marks. I know this is your choice to make, but I'm trying to help you understand what you're really getting yourself into before you do anything. Because if you regret it, you can't back out. They'd kill you."
