"Yes," she said. "If you can't respect me, then you can learn respect by dealing with them. If you actually try in your training, however, you can avoid that. It's your choice." With that she turned around and walked away, leaving Blackpaw to mull over his options.
Once they were out of his hearing range, Bramblefall said to her, "That was really good! I'm proud of you. I know it's not easy for you to be hard on any cat."
Blackpaw scowled and rubbed the beetle's remains in front of him. It was too bad he had already killed it. He would have liked to kill something just then. He then stalked off to his den.
"Thanks," she mewed. "I didn't want to, but I want what's best for him. And right now learning is best for him, and that's how he'll learn."
"No problem. You're right, he needs to learn one way or another how to respect others."
"Now for him to decide," she muttered. "But I'll most likely have to ask him about it, because I suspect he won't be too eager to walk up to me about it."
Bramblefall laughed when he did literally come running up to them seeming eager.
She flashed a surprised glance at Bramblefall. "Alright then," she answered, pleased that he seemed to be showing interest. But something about his smile told her gut he was up to something. "We can ask Whiteshine and Sunpaw if they'd like to join."
