Bluetail glared at Floodpaw and hissed "How could you do such a thing? You took one of our leaders lives!"

“It was because he would have lost all of them if didn’t do something!” Floodpaw shot back.

His neck fur bristled and his claws went in and out. "And who exactly told you that?" He spat

Floodpaw opened her mouth furiously, but Lilyflight cut her off. “Everyone calm down,” she mewed firmly. “I don’t exactly like this much either, but we should give them a chance to explain. I know there’s a reason for it.” She cast a sideways glance at Rainbird.

“StarClan,” answered Floodpaw. “They told us.”

Rainbird looked at her paws when Lilyflight looked at her.

Batclaw came up and stood beside her. "That's right. We received a mission from StarClan, and it was to kill Bramblestar."

Yowls of protest came from the gathered cats. "How do we know you're not lying?" Bluetail yowled above the other cats
