*Running with the Flood* A Warrior Cat RP~Open~

Rainbird looked at her paws when Lilyflight looked at her.

Batclaw came up and stood beside her. "That's right. We received a mission from StarClan, and it was to kill Bramblestar."

Yowls of protest came from the gathered cats. "How do we know you're not lying?" Bluetail yowled above the other cats
Lilyflight signaled for silence.

“But why would they want to kill Bramblestar?” Snowpaw broke in calmly. “They’ve always been loyal, and on top of that, if they were actually going to kill him, why not take more than one life? I believe them. StarClan does things we don’t understand, and sometimes it’s not our job to understand it.” She unconsciously echoed Lilyflight’s words from long ago, before she herself had even been born, from the night Rainpaw had died.

Sunstrike had stepped out of the nursery earlier and heard those words. Tears came into her eyes as she heard the words that had been spoken at her sisters vigil.

All the cats when silent and mulled over Snowpaws words.

Batclaw blinked gratefully at Snowpaw

Lilyflight looked at the young apprentice and nodded her thanks.

Snowpaw returned the nod, feeling proud and happy.

“I think that settles it,” Lilyflight mewed at last. “Do you agree?”

Aspenkit peeked out from behind his mother.

All the cats agreed, Bluetail being the last one.

Sunstrike wrapped her tail around Aspenkit.

“What’s wrong, mother?” The little kit asked gently, noticing her tears and licking her clumsily.

Lilyflight nodded again. “Meeting dismissed.” She knew it hadn’t been an official meeting, but it still felt right to end it officially.

She quickly shook the tears away and mewed "Nothing is wrong. Let's go back to the nursery now."

“But I’ve never seen you cry before,” he argued. “What happened, momma?”

Snowpaw sat by herself at the edge of camp, pondering. Everyone had looked at her with such surprise and respect. What had she said that was so special?

Floodpaw padded to a secluded area.

"I'll tell you when you're older." She promised Aspekit. "Now, go back to nursery, I'm going to talk to Snowpaw." She padded off to the white she-cat

“Okay,” he sighed, reluctantly going back inside.

Snowpaw looked up as she approached. “Hi,” she mewed.
