“I guess we all have to die someday, right?” Snowpaw asked.

Lilyflight returned the nod respectfully, hoping that she wouldn’t have to become leader for a long time yet. She knew what would have to happen if she became leader.

After another brief hesitation, Snowpaw asked, “What’s all this I hear about a lot of cats dying?” Her eyes were lit with fear. “What’s going to happen to us?”

Lilyflight waved back and watched all the ancient cats.

"Erm..." Spottedleaf didn't know how to respond. "It all depends on Floodpaw and if she becomes a medicine cat." She mewed after some thought

“But what if she doesn’t?” she asked, feeling short of breath with worry. “Even if she does, she can’t save everyone! I want to know if my family and friends are going to be okay...”

"I know she can't save everyone. But she will save most of the them if she becomes a medicine cat. Your family will be okay as long as she becomes a medicine cat." She mewed, purposely leaving the part about her friends out
