Lilyflight shot Bramblefall another look. Then took a deep breath. Blackpaw was really starting to get on her nerves. "No, you can drop your prey," she mewed. "We were just trying to warn you because, although you don't seem to care, we do. If you fell, you could get really hurt. Do you want to go into shock or cripple a leg or something?"

"Who knows. Maybe it could give me a break from you two," he grumbled stalking off toward camp. Once he reached camp he sat down with his prey shooting looks at everyone.

I didn't excuse him! she thought furiously. Then she sighed. Who cares? she thought bitterly. It's no use anyway. No matter what I do or how I try to do it he'll find a way to twist it and make it difficult. Is it me? Am I just a horrible mentor?
 
Lilyflight didn't know what to do. How am I supposed to teach him anything? He won't listen, he doesn't try to show me what he's capable of, but then I attempt to show him something and he complains that he already knows it! Well, no kidding Blackpaw. Sorry I planned a lesson you already know, but what else do you expect when you act like you know everything but show no evidence of it? I'm a terrible mentor! If it was anyone other than me they'd be able to do this. But I can't.
