Before I say yes or no, wouldn't it be a bit out of character for her though? Like, she was genuinely happy when they became mates, she likes Strikewhisker, and in general she probably wouldn't. But she's your charcacter, make her do what you want her to do. It would definitely make it interesting, I just don't know if I could see her doing it, you know?)
