Whiteshine purred and walked up to him. "Hi Bramblestar, I was wondering if I could take Snowkit out for a walk in the forest. I know it's against the rules, so that's why I'm asking."

Bramblestar thought for a moment and then mewed "Sure, if she can tell me the first five laws of the warrior code."

She thought and carefully listed them as she could remember. "Defend your Clan. You can have friends in other Clans, but you might have to fight them so you need to have your first loyalty to your own Clan. You can't go into anyone else's territory. Elders, queens, and kits eat first. Prey is killed to be eaten. A kit needs to be six moons to become an apprentice."

Bramblestar purred. "Very good!" He praised. "Whiteshine has taught you well. You may go into the forest."

Whiteshine purred, pride surging through her. She swept Snowkit up with her tail and led the way out of the entrance.

Snowkit followed Whiteshine out, feeling excitement surge through her. She got to go into the forest! As soon as they walked out of the entrance, Snowkit felt as if she had shrunk. "It's huge," she breathed.
