She suddenly remembered Blackpaw's story. "I know, I guess I just forgot." She rested her head on her paws and sniffed. "I was just trying to be nice, and now Whiteshine's mad at me. I don't want her to, I don't want her to be mad at me!" She started crying again.
Rainpaw gently licked her ears. "I'm sure she's only mad because she was scared and worried."
"But then why won't she listen?" she sobbed. "I tried to explain and she only hurt my ear. I want to make her happy, not mad."
"She's just worried about you." She soothed "How would you feel if you only had one kit, and they wandered out and hung out alone with a cat that has killed others before? Think how Whiteshine is feeling right now."
She took a deep, shuddering breath, cursing herself silently for crying so much. "I know, but I tried telling her he saved me and she won't- She just doesn't get it."
Rainpaw groomed her, trying to comfort her. "She was scared and worried. A scared and worried queen doesn't really want to listen to anyone until they are certain that their kits are safe."
"But I am safe! I know being a mother isn't easy, so I'm trying to understand her. I'd just like it if she tried to understand me too."
Rainpaw nodded. "I think she's ready to actually listen now though." She mewed, noticing Whiteshine looking much calmer now.
Snowkit rubbed an eye with a front paw. "Do you think she would?" she asked, her teary eyes sparkling hopefully.
"Yes, I do." She purred
