He let out a rumbling purr and licked her ears. "How long until you have them?"
 
Bramblestar woke up, the disease fogging his eyes. He unsheathed his claws and stood up, his mouth was foaming and the foam dripped onto the floor of his den. He let out a loud snarl that could be heard from inside the camp. He walked out of his den and glared at all the cats that were staring at him. He lashed his tail back and forth, then lunged at the cat closest to him, which was Snowpaw. His claws came a whisker away from her muzzle, luckily missing her. Whiteshine bolted forward and grabbed Snowpaw by her scruff, hauling her into the nursery and to safety. Bramblestar collapsed, unconscious and his mouth still foaming. He groaned and called out for Lilyflight his sleep.

She opened her mouth to answer, but before she could she had let out a screech if fear, and the next thing she knew, she was crouching inside the nursery, trembling.

Lilyflight hurried inside the leader’s den and licked Bramblestar's pelt. “It’s alright,” she soothed.

Whiteshine licked her ears and wrapped her tail around Snowpaw, pulling her close.

Bramblestar groaned and his eyes flitted open. He looked around, seeing Lilyflight. "What happened?" He asked weakly

Snowpaw didn’t even care that she was being treated like a kit. She allowed her mother to comfort her and closed her eyes, soon falling asleep.

“You um...” Lilyflight hesitated. “You went at Snowpaw...”

Whiteshine stayed beside her, the events running back through her mind. Why had Bramblestar tried to attack Snowpaw?

His pelt bristled. "I only fell asleep for a few minutes!" He snarled angry at himself. "Of course the thing had to take over then!"

“It’s not your fault,” she assured, crouching next to him. “Snowpaw’s fine. Whiteshine grabbed her and brought her into the nursery.”
