Floodlight rushed out as she smelled blood. “Wait here,” she ordered the apprentice, gesturing towards a nest just outside the den.
Snowpaw slumped into the soft moss and waited.

“I’m alright,” Snowpaw called back, not wanting him to waste his strength.
Floodlight nodded and grabbed marigold, cobwebs, and a poppy head.
Floodlight held the cobwebs where she was bleeding, made the poultice and spread it on her wounds, then held it in place with the cobwebs. She shook a couple poppy seeds on a leaf in front of her and Snowpaw licked them up gratefully. The world began to buzz and fade as she grew even more exhausted than she had been earlier.He reluctantly sank back down in his nest.
