Lightstar spat out a mouthful of blood and turned to Lilyflight. “RiverClan thanks you. We are in your debt.”

Lilyflight acknowledged the leader’s words with a respectful dip of her head, gathered the Clan with a sweep of her tail. “You can manage now?”

“Yes.” Her voice was grateful but firm.

Lilyflight nodded again and led ThunderClan away.

Redfrond, Whiteshine, Thistlefern, and Rainbird followed her. All of them covered in blood, but not seriously injured

“You fought well,” she said to her Clan’s warriors. Then she turned to Redfrond, worried. “Where is Snowpaw?”

Floodlight held the cobwebs where she was bleeding, made the poultice and spread it on her wounds, then held it in place with the cobwebs. She shook a couple poppy seeds on a leaf in front of her and Snowpaw licked them up gratefully. The world began to buzz and fade as she grew even more exhausted than she had been earlier.

When she was asleep, Floodlight walked back into the medicine den. “She’s asleep,” she told Rosepaw.

"I sent her back to camp after she took a nasty blow from one of the rogues." He explained, leaving out the part about where he almost killed the rogue.

Rosepaw nodded. "Will she be okay?" He croaked

She nodded, relieved. “Good. We’d better get back, then, and make sure she’s okay.”

“She will,” Floodlight assured him. “She has a torn ear and a few other things that’ll scar, but she’s not seriously hurt.”

He nodded. "Lead the way."

Rosepaw sighed with relief. "That's good..." He mumbled before he fell asleep
