Snowfrost’s confusion was almost completely worn off. She was worried about Lilyflight, but had been permitted to move back to the nursery with her kits.

"I-I don't know." He whimpered.

Sunstrike had given all the kits to Snowfrost so she could stay in the medicine den with her adopted mother.

Skykit didn't know what was happening but whimpered softly. "Mama..." He mewed forlornly.

Lionkit sat with his head and tail drooping, wondering what was going to become of his mother.

Hazelkit still sat in the medicine den, watching Lilyflight alertly.

Bramblestar's ears perked up when he felt her move next to him

Snowfrost groomed all of the kits in turns, trying to comfort them. “Floodlight is doing all she can,” she murmured. “If anyone can save Lilyflight, she can.”

Lilyflight let out a low moan of pain, feeling someone’s fur next to her but also feeling dazed.

Lionkit nor Skykit responded to her grooming or words of comfort

“Hmm?” She blinked open her eyes halfway, trying to ignore the pain from all of her many injuries.

Floodlight padded over to her.

“Wh-What's going on...?” Her voice was small and weak.

“Hush, it’s alright,” Floodlight soothed. “Can you understand me?”

“Yes...”

“You haven’t eaten anything in a while,” Snowfrost said kindly. “Do you want me to get you something?”

"Lilyflight..." He murmured, happy she was awake. He licked her ears joyously. "You're home. Hazelkit saved us."

“How- What? How long have I been like this?” She was still very weak, not wanting to turn her head in fear of what she would look like. How bad had her injuries been?

"Only a few hours." He informed her. Hazelkit couldn't take it anymore and ran up to her, licking her face happily. "Mom!" Her neck was still bandaged and some of her blood had soaked through.
