*Running with the Flood* A Warrior Cat RP~Open~

Nervously, afraid of hurting her, he pushed her off of him with his front paws.

“Try stalking something.”
All Featherkit succeded in doing to Flykit was making her front paws come off the ground. "It's okay, I stronger than I look." she meowed, re-pinning him loosely.

Skykit's whiskers twitched with amusement while he watched. "Featherkit, push her off with your shoulder, not your paws. You'll need those to land on once she's off of you and to pin her down when she's on the ground."

Nightpaw muttered something like "if there was anything to stalk" and crept off in search of prey. A few minutes later, her ears led her to a mouse, which was gripping a seed and looking away from her. Yes! She wiggled her hindquarters rather excitedly, and realized too late that the mouse heard her before jumping at it and instead getting a face-full of dust.

Redfrond, who was out on a border patrol with Thistlefern, Rainbird, and his apprentice, Lionpaw, witnessed what had happened. He gave her a sympathetic look as Rainbird chased after the mouse, not willing to let any prey to get away that easily. "Next time, try not to move the plants around you too much. It let's your prey know where you are." He advised in a kind tone before leading the patrol away, Rainbird returning to the group with a limp grey body in her jaws and a few briars clinging to her pelt.

“I just don’t want to hurt her...” he admitted.

Nightpaw stared at Rainbird with awe and disbelief in her eyes. There's no way she could've caught that. It was half in the brambles and definitely in a place a cat couldn't fit! She internally protested, though part of her thought it might just be herself compensating for her failed pounce.

Rainbird blinked at the apprentice before giving the mouse to her. "We're on a border patrol, not a hunting patrol. You can take this back to camp, if you want." She mewed before chasing after the patrol. That was close... I can't let too many other cats figure out who I am. She thought, shuddering slightly as she stuck close to her brother, Thistlefern, in the back of the patrol

She must be a good hunter. Nightpaw thought, dipping her head to the warrior. Even if the apprentice was suspicious about her and her non-existent daughter, she respected a cat that could hunt so well. She grabbed the mouse and returned to Flamefrost, putting the mouse down. "I didn't catch it," she said before her mentor could ask.
