Runny poo. How do I know who has it?

I've noticed runny poo in the chicken house. How do I know who it's coming from (aside from following my flock all day)? Also, what does this mean?

Could be an illness, or stress or bad food- (bad as in moldy or bad as in the wrong type/ too much treats or something)

Check to make sure your food is fresh (sometimes mold grows in it)

Then I'd look for the one with a dirty butt...

bring out some treats and see if anyone doesn't want any.

One of mine just started the runs too. I just got them 3 days ago, and it is concerning. Hers are brown and runny. Nothing in it though. I may try some cooked rice to help. Will not get too worried unless it persists for another 2 days. The chicken poo pics were good, but no diagnosis for each one. Good luck

Is it just a brown runny poo? If it is brown, then it is normal. Chickens will do a runny brown poo that smells pretty bad a few times a day, and it is normal. But if it is discolored and looks odd then it could be something else.

Wow I'm glad I had dinner before I looked at this poo chart.

Yes it was brown, like runny chocolate pudding. Now that you mention it, it was in a spot behind where the chickens roosts at night. I have to remodel the coop but for right now a few of them sit with their butts hanging into the "nesting area". So I figure if it was a problem then there would be a whole pile of runny poo instead of just one splat on top of a couple piles of normal poo. Good to hear it's normal, thanks!
