RUNNY POOP

one 8 month old hen has white runny poop. has feathers below vent all covered and harded with it. no coughing, sneezing, nasal dicharge. roosts alot. other than that normal behavior. any ideas?

Runny poop is usually a symptom of something else. But I have seen what you describe many times with no other symptoms. I usually have 1 or 2 birds with runny poop every couple months or so. I have never been able to find the cause. I usually feed them yogurt mixed with feed, about 2 cups of yogurt for 35 birds, 2-3 times over 2 weeks. The runny poop goes away for a couple months and then I start all over again with a couple new birds. I lost a bird who had it last year before I started using yogurt. Hope this helps. -Dan

i should add: been locked coop alot. been below zero. i clean coop every week. i sanitize foutain every week.
