I also posted earlier today, I think it’s the mom side kicking in but better safe then sorry. But also this morning my duckling had a bigger breakfast then normal, but this morning he has been pooping white runny poops, and one of his poops were white and foamy. What could this be from? He seems to be acting normal but I’ll keep my eye out for anything different :)

IDK but I'd sure like to because I've got one that's doing the same thing. She's a 2 yr old runner. I started her on Baytril yesterday. She's been lethargic, standing around doing not much of anything and then just laying down. I put her in a pen with another older duck for a buddy and they are both spending the day in with the 4 weeks old 9 runner ducks I just hatched. I figured not being with the drakes is good.

@Runner duck mom had the same issue with her Olive 2 years ago and again this year. I suspect it might be reproductive but not sure. The vet @Runner duck mom saw said her duck wouldn't live through the weekend and that was over a year ago.

I've honestly never heard of duck poop being used to diagnose anything (short of bloody - but that should be kind of a duh). Obviously other things like being lethargic and not eating well etc... should be watched and handled but just a day to day? It really depends on what they eat, how much they drink, and how much dirt they shoveled today.
I wouldn't pay it much mind but I would love for someone to give me a reason to change my mind - sources would be amazing so I can study up on it?

Chickens and other animals I understand have a very diagnosable excrement.

@casportpony uses it to diagnose all the time!

Ok. Is there actual information out there anywhere? Because I've never seen anything on the subject for ducks compared to chickens.
I'd rather not hijack this thread debating the validity of using poop as a diagnostic tool. Feel free to start a conversation with me though.

@Fynnbaby, can you post some pictures of the poop and some pictures of the duck that pooped it?
I didn’t take pictures at the time but I found some that looked like it on the internet, except his poop was all white, and only one of them was foamy. That’s my duckling, and that’s his most recent poop, so I don’t think it’s anything serious? But I’m still learning :)
