I bought 15 chicks on Thursday. All seem to be doing very well. I am watching them closely but one seems to be the runt and seems to have a limp like a shorter leg and seems very lethargic. Do you think I will lose him or her?

Sorry you are worried about the little one. I hope you don't lose it. Make sure it is getting enough to eat and drink. Maybe being smaller is keeping it from getting enough nutrients. You can take a syringe or eye dropper and feeding it some water/feed several times a day and water with gatorade, sugar or vits. added. The limp could be some sort of slight injury or birth defect but shouldn't effect whether it survives. Keep an eye on it and watch to make sure it doesn't get worse. Keep the babies on paper towels or some other bedding where they don't slip. Keep in mind that even if you do lose the little one, it was meant to be and you did all you could for it. I hope this helps and I hope it does well for you. Good luck!
