Hi Everyone, I got my first chicks last week Friday, They are silver laced wyandottes. 3 of the 4 have really grown. 1 is growing very very slowly. They were born with in 2-3 days of each other, the small one Bianca was the 2nd hatched. My question. Will she ever grow up to be the size of an adult. Her siblings are being nice to her. She is eating and drinking, they are a bit over a week

We have 4 week old cochins....one of them at about a week old, we thought we were going to lose....very lethargic for a day or so...she is completely fine now, however, she is markedly smaller than her siblings. She is thriving and growing....just a lot smaller! Good luck with your little one!

You might want to consider moving her away from the others, or at least dividing them in some manner where they can still be close but not in the same area. I had a runt as well but left it with the others because they all got along well. The others kept growing but she didn't. She still ate and drank and seemed healthy so I was optimistic. One day, I found her trampled. Flat as a pancake. My guess is that the other just trapped her by accident and she couldn't fight her way out of the corner.

I am so sad to say that Bianca passed sometime today, she looked a little tired this morning so I imagine she was dying already this morning. When I found her she was just in a lump, like she was sitting and died. she wasn't trampled looking and her siblings always were careful with her. Poor girl. I buried her just outside the run. So she can be forever free.
