Good morning! I am at a loss... I bought these Bantams at Rural King in Heath, Ohio in May. They are now about 5 weeks old. I have never seen a Bantam quite like these. I try to handle them everyday, but they still struggle, and when one got out of the cage, it flew high! What am I raising?? I thought they might be a "game" type Bantam, but not at all sure. THANKS so very much for any help anyone could offer. John in Ohio

That's a Black Ringneck Pheasant. It's never going to tame down.
THANKS for solving my mystery! I truly appreciate it. I knew something wasn't right, but have never had this kind of experience. The dogs sure knew! They leave all my other laying hens and bantams alone, but they were constantly running around the cage of these! I guess I will keep them caged till they are more mature and let them out...... Thanks again for your help! John in Ohio
