Rural King (Hoovers) Meat Birds Any Good?

All of my flock, with a single exception, was TSC (Hoovers) during hte start of the Pandemic, so it was buy what they had or go without (noestly, many trips they sold out before I could compelte the 40 minute drive in.

As I said on another thread, they are adequate hatchery-quality birds, but in no way exceptional.

So much so, I've started a project to improve on what I bought.
Indeed. I've been following your other thread. I find it very interesting. I didn't realize yours sold out so much. Mine, it's about a 50-50 chance.

Oh good to know! I assumed the in-store chicks were Hoover because when I looked into ordering online from TSC they were Hoover. But I bet you're right and they could be from different places in the store.
Same. I just assumed all the chicks at RK were Hoover's because the online store for RK said Hoover's.

We should be getting our meat birds tomorrow. I ordered Hoovers “Rudd Rangers” per a few suggestions from friends. This is our first go with meat birds so I’m hopeful! Though now after doing more research and reading comments on your thread I’m wondering if we should’ve gone with Cornish. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hope it goes well for you!
