Hi,
So I have a one day old duckling who appears to have wry neck. He's the first one to hatch out of my incubator and he came out backwards and I had to help him, his neck was crooked as soon as he came out of the egg. He also walks around in circles could this be neurological instead? He eats and drinks by himself now. My question is what do I need to do as I have never had this happen to me before when I have hatched out ducks. I have heard vitamin E is good for them is this Correct? If anyone could help I would so grateful. I will try and add a video later on. Thank you Hannah

The issue being neurological is certainly a possiblity, but lets hope its not that. I most commonly hear niacin and poultry nutri-drench being used to treat these sort of symptoms. It's good that he's eating on his own - I had a gosling a long while ago that certainly had neurological issues and he would not eat or drink on his own. He didn't make it.
A video would also be helpful, yes!

Maybe @Miss Lydia will have more useful input on this. Good luck with your duckling!

Welcome to BYC! Pictures and a video would be helpful.

Thanks for all the replies, I have ordered some nutri-drench it will arrive tomorrow. I have made a brace for his neck with does seem to help him keep it up. I have embedded a video, lets see if that works

It definitely seems disoriented but it nights just be a balence issue do to the wry neck. Make sure it eats and drinks enough and give it the nutri drench when it comes in. I’ve seen ducklings I’m worse shape pull through so I have a lot of hope for this little guy. Good luck and keep us posted :hugs

Oh and :welcome
