IMO theres plenty of nice roosters out there that WILL protect their hens and WILL be nice to you. No sense in keeping a roo that will flog you every time you step foot in YOUR pen...not his.

Bash me for this or whatever but this is what I believe.

You know, not to beat a dead horse... but I though you said you were DONE. You know, like... gone. Which typically means you go away and stop harassing people, which, by the way, you're currently doing. Did you know harassing is against the terms of service? Here's some excerpts from the "Rules" page, which you can find up top between "User List" and "Search":

I'd also like to point out, "The staff love the community, but if a member continues to disregard our guidelines they will be banned from accessing the BackYardChickens forum." That means if you continue being hostile towards others, you WILL be reported which could very well lead to banning. If I recall, you have a history of harassing other members on these forums. I am amazed that you're not banned already, personally, but I guess most forum-goers just don't want to cause a scene. Me? I don't tolerate people picking on other people for ANY reason whatsoever, and I'm not afraid to stick my neck out to defend those who are being stepped on. Do not tell me not to get involved, because by posting in a PUBLIC LOCATION you are INVITING other people to join your conversation, and currently you are POLLUTING a thread that I have found to be very valuable and have enjoyed discussing the topic with other members until you came along and scared everyone away. In short, that means that you are impeding on my free will to be here and enjoy the experience, AND you are being a negative impact on the community as a whole.

As I stated before, if you wish to have a CONSTRUCTIVE conversation about the topic at hand, we are all more than willing to DISCUSS opinions in a mature fashion. We are all more than willing to debate ( which is much different than arguing ) our opinions. And please, remember that - you are dealing with OPINIONS and NOT facts. If someone's opinion doesn't match up with yours, let it go. If you want a private conversation DO NOT post in a thread - message a person privately. In the same bar that the Rules are found on, on the far right is a tab called "Messages". On the far right is a box that says "Send New Message" much like making a post, and then you just type in or copy and paste someone's user name in the "Send To" box and you're set! That way you can have all the private messages you want without anyone ever butting in on your conversation uninvited. However, please keep in mind that harassing privately tends to be even more looked down upon than harassing in open, public areas such as threads.

Just to be clear, if I see you post one more time in this thread with the slightest amount of aggression towards another user I will not hesitate to report you to a moderator. However, if you choose to be mature and non-violent, I will be more than willing to discuss opinions and ways to prevent aggression in roosters while maintaining a rooster that is capable of defending a flock, and alternate ways to deal with aggressive roosters. I am sure that other people on the thread will be more than willing to discuss other facets of this topic as well, so long as they don't feel cornered and attacked. This may not be MY thread, but it WAS a thread I was enjoying, and people ARE being harassed, and if you think I don't have a right to confront you I would like to point out that you QUOTED me and confronted me first. That being said, please clean up your act or leave.

Thank you Oly, you've been very helpful to this thread

Now, back to the topic! (Your post was no harm, it was very helpful, but I'm ready to be back on topic as of now.)

The other day an OEGB got into the pen with my other roo and my leg got in the way ( i was trying to get the OEGB) and his spur got me right on the front of my leg on the bone. I cleaned it out and everything but its bright red around the puncture and spreading with swelling and hurts like poo when I walk. Got a doctors appt tomorrow.

I think we're done here. When you post on an internet forum, you will not always have folks agree with your opinions or your methods. Since it was written that this was just a friendly warning by the OP, then I think the point is made now.
