Any guesses on these little ones color? 🤔 They’re about a week old now. Dad is a buff, mom is white!

That's a sex-linked cross. If the mother doesn't have the buff gene hiding under the white daughters will be buff, sons sexlinked dilute (the color of female pilgrims.)

Thought I’d update! We ended up with 2 different shades of buff, and one white (which we sadly lost due to a predator.) The gray is from a different batch, and is a hybrid.

(Just in advance, I know about the angel wing baby. We’ve attempted to treat it early on, but no dice. Going to tape her one more round and see if there’s any progress.)

Can I ask how much protein is in their feed? We have never had angel wing in our geese but did have it in some ducks years ago. Switching to a low protein waterfowl maintenance feed had them cured in a short amount of time. Fast forward to now and I have just bought some goslings with angel wing. They were on a high protein diet and I am hoping to have the same improvements in them that we had with the ducks now that they're getting low protein feed.

I feed Kalmbach all flock 16% Not a super high protein, but not exactly low either. 🤷‍♀️ This is my first year hatching my own, but all the other goslings I’ve raised haven’t had any issues. I will say that goslings in particular doesn’t seem to care for any grasses. All the others will forage when they’re out during the day. I have a feeling in that little one’s case it has something to do with it.
