Sacramento California Craigslist, Free Shed Looks Good for a Coop

STOP IT BOTH OF YOU! Good grief I just bid and won the MF D'uccles! Sorry, but I had to have these guys. I have some in the bator from Lynne in SoCal but it's my second try and last time 3/3 quit and this time 2/6 quit. I am trying to get some good breeding stock as I would like to make these the bantams I breed and the Light Sussex my standard breed. We can get those blue and gold laced EE's and the blue rocks this Spring right? Maybe we can split an order. Or, hey I'll trade ya a d'uccle.

Sorry

Wow, Mary, wish i would have known last summer that you were wanting MF D'Uccles. i had them coming out my ears. Got a very pretty pair and kept hatching eggs and then giving the babies away. It's amazing how easy it is to get a good hatch when the eggs aren't shipped. i ended up rehoming all of them (except for a little lame girl) to concentrate on the showgirls.

i did hatch and keep a trio of Porcelains because i just love the little roo. i bought those eggs on ebay and actually got a very good hatch rate. If they ever start laying you are welcome to some eggs, if you want.

Anyhow, no new chicken coops, sheds, or playhouses on craigslist so far today . . . but the day is young!

Here's the little coop I got. It's pretty much brand new. I figure it would be a good grow out pen for my babies, and at the same time let the older ones see them and get used to them. I figure I can also use it for a broody.

Looking inside the nesting boxes. The coop has removable wheels so you can easily move it.

Looking in from the side access door. I'm going to cover the chicken wire with hardware cloth.

Nice Kelly! You should get a lot of use out of that!

I took delivery of my three new breeding coops tonight in the dark! We didn't put them in place because I need to waterproof the plywood. I am going to get my granddaughters to help me water-seal them Friday and then move them into their permanent spots. I am really anxious to get the little stinky Sussex chicks out of my tool shed. I'll post some pics when I get it set up.

I didn't know last summer that I wanted MF d'uccles! That's why I didn't tell you. I bought those eggs from Banty Rooster and I am going to set them for the Christmas Day hatch. Wish me luck! I know what you mean about eggs that aren't shipped.
