Sad Animal Commercials

The situation of animal rescue is exactly the same here. Whilst I think it important to make sure the animal is appropriately placed, they are now almost unobtainable from the big rescue centres unless you are able to offer doggy heaven. It is also cheaper to buy a crossbreed puppy than rescue a dog and no questions asked. We have, in the past adopted dogs from large rescue centres but over the years it has become almost as difficult as adopting a child. Our latest two oldies however, were adopted from a small informal rescue. There is no kennels, just a group of people who foster until they can rehome. We were only asked for a donation. It helps if you are experienced with the animal you wish to adopt. Perhaps you have similar groups. We just contacted one of the organisers and went along to her house and introduced ourselves. After a very informal interview we were offered whatever dog we liked, and told we could always go back there in the future. Also, they are only a phone call away for advice etc. A good experience.

nods...I know how you all feel...I watch them and yes you feel bad for the animals buttttt! I tell myself....I have and am still doing my fair share!....stomps and puts my foot down
I have taken in many a stray, had it Doctored and made well, had it spayed or neutered, gave it a good life and then seen it pass. But I feel I have done my share soooo...anymore those commercials don't affect me as much. Geesh ok...get's off my soap box...lol
