So I finally started my lil chicken farm.and I really wanted a silkie. So I took a chance and got the cutest little black fuzzy chick.. name was Mimi. She was a cuddly lil thing... well 2 days ago she became a he :( my heart sank.. where I live your not allowed a rooster... so there's a few things..

First I need to find my guy a new home.. anyone have ideas

Then I have some questions..

My chicks are about 15 weeks old.. if I got another girl around the same age how would my girls handle that? Or should I do younger/older

Does anyone know where I could get a female silkie about that age close to Sacramento if I decided to bring another girl home?

When I need to re-home or sell chicks or adult birds, craigslist is the first place I go. I would suggest doing that. I will say that lots of people love Silkies. The same age is always best, but sometimes you can't always get so lucky. Mainly look for birds about the same size as yours to make the introduction process easier, or if you're desperate, you could always get babies and wait until they're a reasonable size to introduce them. If you're looking for new birds. once again, check craigslist. Or ask around and find out about any local poultry swaps. Sorry about your little roo. He's lovely. Best of luck to you!
