Sad day in the chicken house

I have a nursery for setting hens. Right now there's a hen with two babies, a younger chick and a hen setting guinea eggs.

This morning I went in to check and found a keet way off by itself, another that had been pecked to death and one more with a wound on it's head.

The hen with babies must have attacked them. It looks like five eggs hatched, but the others are nowhere to be found. One egg is completely gone.

Everyone is separated now, but if I had planned better I'd probably have more babies.

Good luck with the chicks that survived.

At least now you know that that hen is not a good broody or mother, so this won't happen again I hope.

I think the other hen in there did it. The one who hatched the keets just isn't very assertive. The other one has always been a bully, and I should have moved her before.
