Sad Day!!!!!

We lost our 14 week old Ameracauna today! Her name was Crook. Her beak twisted at about 3 weeks and she didn't grow well but was eating and drinking. We took our grandchildren back to Fl. , left Fri. night late and got back at 6 p.m. tonight. She was very special to us and always greeted us first in the morning when opening the coop door or anytime we entered the youngsters area. We buried her and had ourselves a good cry. Thanks for letting me vent.

I feel your pain hun. We are recovering (slowly) from a fire on Friday that took several of our favorite chickens, including my daighters 20 week old Ameraucana, Becca.

Unfortunately, we could not bury her, as we have yet to find her....

I am sorry for your loss. Ameraucanas are and will always be my favorite breed because they are so precious and sweet natured. Hugs to you and your family.

Thank you both. I am so sorry about your loss and fire. How lucky you were that you and your children and home were spared. It hurts when you look at your birds as part of the family and then they are gone!
