I had to put down our first roster we had. He was almost a year old but he lost being alpha and other rosters were picking on him so much that he lost half his weight and even had a bleeding home in his head from being pecked.

We’ve been raising chickens for about ten months now. The lessons keep coming. But can chickens be mean!

We just got chickens almost a year ago, I hadn't had any since I was little. I had no idea how mean they were to each other. I'm sorry for your loss.

I am very sorry about your loss. Putting chickens down is hard, saying goodbye is even harder. He is such a handsome lil guy. Chickens can be so mean sometimes. I am glad you gave him the best life you could. I imagine he really loved you. It is always sad seeing your chickens suffer, especially when it’s the fault of their flock mates :(

We are all here for you if you need anything :hugs
