I lost one of my Black Sex Link hens today in what appears to be a freak accident. Evidently she must have been sitting in the door way to the coop, and some how the door which slides up & down ,came down on her & broke her neck or spine. I just happened to look over at the coop & she was lying right at the bottom of the ladder. Then I saw that the door had somehow gotten shut, that is the only thing I saw that could have happened. Bummer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
