Sad Little Chicken in the Corner

Hey y'all!

Hoping you chicken experts can help me with what may (or may not) be an issue.

We have 8 chickens - 2 Japanese bantams that are about 9 weeks old, 1 generic lovable bantam roo around 9 weeks old. and 5 buff orphingtons that are 7 weeks old. We've had them outside for probably two weeks together with limited issues (we had two other roos that someone, happily, took off us and that eliminated the too-many-roos-in-the-hen-house issue.) Either way, they've been happily getting along so far.

The chickens are kept in the coop/run during the day but we make a point to let them out for an hour or two at the end of each night while we're outside so we can watch them. The last two nights, however, one of the buffs has put herself in a corner and not been too interested in coming out with the other chickens. It's new behavior - it's not been like that - but I don't know why. Last night, I picked her up and she happily sat in my lap the whole time (until the roo pecked at me for messing with his ladies). She did it again tonight and didn't seem interested in pecking around with the other chickens. She just kept herself in the coop until I put her in my lap and sat with her. She's a sweet little mom but it's new behavior. She doesn't have any noticeable signs of being pecked at, no wounds or bald spots. Is there anything else I should check? Is this just normal chicken behavior? Is there anything I can do to help entice her out of the coop when the rest are roaming around

TIA!

The only time I’ve had a problem like this is when I had a problem with bullying. But the signs were very obvious (blood and missing feathers). Try looking her over really really well again. Not only for marks but mites as well and it may be that she isn’t feeling well. Try to entice her to eat and drink.

Throw out some treats during range time and watch the flock.
She may be low bird, or she may be ill.
Don't coddle her, could be a bad habit and may interfere with her finding her place in the flock.

I have watched her a bit more and I think she is just lowest chicken in the pack. she's eating normally and participating in flock behavior though always last. Thanks for the advice!
