I am no expert....but I found one of those....though about 8" longer coiled on a plastic roof of a playhouse...freaked me out...didn't look like the 'normal' earthworm...and coiled and raised it's "head/end" like a snake...which is what I thought it was...my FIL was here that day...he said...(he is from this area, flat, swampy) oh...."that's a horsetail worm"....apparently....these creatures are worms...earthworm type...that are native to this area...maybe others...but I never saw one like that in my LIFE!
I noticed you are from MS...so I'm thinking similar topography.
Anyway, I would still treat like I found a round worm...but that is what they tell me about the 'things' that grow down here.
