Sad news about Preston the alpaca

Quote:
The farm we got 2 of our llama's from had yaks. They ran with the alpacas (48 of them), llama's (125 of them) and the sheep (25 of them). They had 42 yaks, 16 dexter cattle,25 scottish highland cattle, 11 alpaca llama crosses, and about 200 goats all running together outside. When they came inside they had there own barns. They also have about 200 dairy cattle that had there own pasture and barn of course. Now this farm is a very nice and clean farm. They have MANY MANY acres(325 acres+ more for the dairy). None of the animals were crowded or looked/acted distressed... But once again all but the dairy cattle ran the pastures together. Only were seperated when they came inside.

I don't know about deworming difference or what not that they did for the yaks. I just know they were pastured together.

Well I received sad new about my alpaca. He isn't the alpaca I thought I bought. I had the manager of the farm contact me this week. She asked how Los Prodos Woody was doing. I told her great. I sent her pictures. She emailed back saying that wasn't the right alpaca. So, I checked his micro chip. My guy, Preston, doesn't have one and papers that I got has the real Woody's micro chip on them. So, I am bummed out about it. But Preston isn't going anywhere. I will be gelding him and keeping him as a pet. I should be getting another one very soon. I am excited. Preston will love having an alpaca friend.

how did that happen? Is there a difference as far as pedigree goes? I dont know much about them. Glad to hear your going to keep him anyway.

I would MOST def get your $ back. They was very fraudulent to sell you a chipped, pedigreed Alpaca and then switch them. SHAME SHAME> I am so sorry.

I think the problem is with the alpaca papers. They just have a color on them. They don't have the animal's markings or picture. I like to think that it was a honest mistake that two animals were mixed up. There is no way to track down who the alpaca is that I have. He has gone through two sales that I know of. I didn't really want to breed anyways, but I hate being sold something that wasn't what I brought.

I have been told to get my money back by several people, but I don't want to give up Preston. I would think I would have to give him back to get my money back. Plus, I don't think the person that sold him in the sale knew that he wasn't the right one. I called and talked to him. He said he got him at a sell with the papers. So, I would have to go back to the sell and track down that person. It would be a long process and I think it would just lead to a dead end.

Dang, I am sorry about the mix-up!!! He is one lucky boy to have you to spend his life with!!!! I have always alpacas, I think that I will have to add them to my wish list!!

Hi, I am so happy you are keeping Preston. At this point he is part of the family. I happened to catch your subject going by on the home page and got nervous. After reading I realized Preston is OK and happy you are keeping him. It is so great that you are getting an Alpaca friend for him. He will be SO happy. Would love to see pictures of them together in the future.

I have both registered and not and we love them and they love us all the same.
Did you find a farm closer to you.
I have checked in with you lately so Was just wondering.
You will find out that after getting more Preston will always be your most precious one of all.
I know MOON was my first and even though he gets into trouble sometimes when I have him running loose He knows I alway forgive him and let him out again. Its funny how he knows when he has done something or gotten into something he shouldn't because he looks at you with his head down and droopy eyes.
I ask him what have you done NOW.
I know Preston willbe this way to you.
Glad your keeping him
Babette

Your Alpaca is so pretty!

Someone brought their little brown & white alpaca to an Art in the Park event a few weekends ago & let people pet it. It was the sweetest thing. It kept nuzzling its owner who said her Alpaca was just like a friend to her.
