I just received a nice little FCM pullet from Ceder Ridge Farm in Kentucky. She traveled all the way to Arizona and in transit layed 2 lovely chocolate eggs, which believe it or not arrived intact! After rolling around in there for all that way, those eggs didn't have a chip. I happen to have 2 broodys right now so for fun I stuck one of the eggs under one of them. Hmmm, we shall see!

Sad news. This little one didn't hatch. That it developed at all was surprising. It's been 31 days since I placed the egg under my broody and think it's time to pull it back so that this hen can get on with her life. She is still diligently sitting on it, even with 2 babies to care for that are a couple weeks old now. Thankfully another hen is helping her with the chicks.

ETA: The little one got pretty close to hatch. Looked fully developed, feather footed, perfect. Who knows went went wrong in the end.
