You know, pit bulls accout for a large % of the dog population, I would venture. Just based on that alone, you would expect more to have a higher probability that when a attack happens, that it could be a pit bull. then take into account the sort of people who gravitate to a breed like this - usually people who can't take care of themselves or thier kids or thier dogs - increases the probablility more, I would guess that you have a powerful dog that has grown up either poorly socialized or badly trained or untrained. Irresponsible people tend to not only not take time to properly train a dog, but they often can't or don't contain those dogs. People who get them because they want a tough dog, often re-enforce agressive behavior. Someone should do a study on the owners of these dogs that attack - I bet that there would be a lot of comminalities between them.
