Came home from a weekend trip to find my RIR dead in laying box. Evidently the waterer wasn’t positioned correctly because it was dry. My Roo & buff are thirsty but fine. Do you guys think it was only water loss?

Sorry for your loss. The combination of heat and water deprivation is a killer. Monitor the remaining birds closely - there may be long term health issues with them.

Water is likely. You can add some apple cider vinegar or preferably electrolytes, sometimes they won’t drink the water if there’s AP vinegar in it because if the taste. I don’t know if those things listed will help much, but it may help give your surviving birds a boost. Sorry got you’re loss, Avery

Welcome, and so sorry for your loss.
Here we have more than one feeder and waterer, and have at least one visit daily by a friend or neighbor when we are gone. Having them checked daily does matter, if at all possible.
