the ducky room
so i went to the auction today despite the rain and they had 2 muscovy drakes in a dog crate and baby ducklings out in thcold with no lamp or warmth. the poor ducklings were all huddled together. i am going to call the spca on them. that's so sad

i would have bought the drakes if i was allowed to have a big flock, but i am only allowed 2 ducks.

i wish my parents would let me have endless ducks. as duckyfromoz knows i'd have all the animals i could if i was allowed. and i think we kinda agreed that i am not allowed to live alone lol. those poor babies. i wanted to buy the ducklings soooooooo bad. i have everything they need

At least I only have 1 portacot dwelling duck inside my bedroom!!!! And Regie is so tiny still.

It is sad that people treat ducks - or any creature for that matter like you have seen. I find out here most people that buy my ducks do so as they are so healthy, well cared for, hand raised and tame when I sell at auction. I let interested buyers pick them up and cuddle them too. I get very good prices because people know I look after them well. I could raise 4 times as many and have to sell them for a few dollars each just to get rid of them. But that is not what I am about. I would love for others to experience the joy of owning ducks like I do.

I used to buy ducklings from markets, feed them up, and get them presentable before giving them away to people who had asked me for ducks. But I realised that I was supporting the cruel farmers who continue to sell sick and injured animals. As sad as it is for me to think that on any given Saturday there are 100 or more ducks for sale here in Melbourne that need GOOD homes, I have realised that I cannot save them all.

lol i have 2 full grown muscovies in my room in a port-a-crib
