Well, I've learned that chicken math IS real. It's super easy to justify adding "just one more". I've also learned that I CAN have too many chickens. Weird contrast, I know.
This was definitely an invaluable learning experience. And so much fun to watch mama hen raise all these adorable chicks. Especially guessing genders, wondering what breeds are mixed in and watching feather patterns/colors grow in. Thanks to all who had the patience to teach me how to tell cockerels from pullets! Hopefully I won't have to bug anyone in the future! And yes, there will be a future, because I will soon forget that I CAN have too many
